Meetings and Events

Our regular monthly meetings start up again in September.

On July 24, events of the 150th celebration come to the Manassas Confederate Cemetery for a dedication of a Civil War Trails marker.

  • Every June, the Chapter holds a memorial service at the Confederate Cemetery.

  • The Chapter facilitates the placing of markers on the graves of Confederate veterans and former UDC members.
    On August 14, 2005, such a marker was placed on the grave of Esther Green, a past President of the Manassas Chapter and a past Virginia Division President. A picture taken during the ceremony was included in the Newsletter of the Major General John Bankhead Magruder Chapter, MOSB, which participated in the ceremony.

  • On April 10, 2008, the U.S. Senate passed legislation to designate the Journey Through Hallowed Ground a National Heritage Area. For more information, check out the Hallowed Ground Web site.
