Meetings and Events
Our regular monthly meetings start up again in September.
On July 24, events of the 150th celebration come to the Manassas Confederate Cemetery for a dedication of a Civil War Trails marker.
Chapter members, go to the Members Only section for meeting dates and details.
The Chapter facilitates the placing of markers on the graves of Confederate veterans and former UDC members.
On August 14, 2005, such a marker was placed on the grave of Esther Green, a past President of the Manassas Chapter and a past Virginia Division President. A picture taken during the ceremony was included in the Newsletter of the Major General John Bankhead Magruder Chapter, MOSB, which participated in the ceremony.
On April 10, 2008, the U.S. Senate passed legislation to designate the Journey Through Hallowed Ground a National Heritage Area. For more information, check out the Hallowed Ground Web site.
